You might notice a new image on our website with a bright red tomato. Elizabeth, one of our market vendors has created a wonderful new blog to encourage everyone to eat locally and share recipes. Here is my first picture choice from that site. Check it out and join our group.
This Sunday we will have the non-profit group Habitat for Cats! Stop by for information and to visit some cats that need to find homes. They will have a booth from 1-4pm at the market.
This Sunday we are excited to have Jay and Abby Michaels at the market from 1-4pm. Come listen to their beautiful music, sit on a blanket, eat local veggies and goodies from the farmers. For more info about these musicians check out their website.
All area book groups and readers are encouraged to read the same book this summer. The title Animal, Vegetable and Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. The first meeting and book discussion group about this title will be held at the farmers market on Sunday, September 14th at 3pm. Enjoy this wonderful title and come to share your thoughts, recipes and food ideas at the market. More information will follow.
We are pleased to announce that we have a certified massage therapist, Amy Atkins of Fairhaven at the farmers market next weekend. She will be giving brief, FREE massages from 1-2:30pm. Hope you can come and enjoy this treat and buy some wonderful local foods and products.
For the past two weekends we had rain barrel raffles. The barrels were won by Jane the first week and Mary this past week. They were both very excited to get their prizes. This week we are going are starting a new raffle that will last for the month of July. It is an incredible bike. A unique, one of a kind riding experience. Everyone needs to think Green and start riding their bikes. Here is an opportunity to win a bike for $1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets.
The new Fairhaven Farmers Market will open on Sunday, June 22 from 1-4pm.
We are very excited to have Pumpkin Head Ted entertaining the first day! We have many wonderful vendors ready to go at our market and sell their local products. Please join us for this wonderfully sustainable event!
The Fairhaven Sustainability Committee has received a United Way Mini-Grant to promote the new market. We will be printing posters, bookmarks, banners and cloth bags to give away at the market.

The new Fairhaven Farmers Market is starting on Sunday, June 22 and running through October 19th. The market will be on the corner of Main Street and Route 6 on the lawn of Fairhaven High School.
